My name is Tim Odoms. I was raised in South Texas. However, I grew up in New England. Now, I live back in South Texas. In my life time, I have seen some extreme highs and some extreme lows.
In the best of times, I lived in a 3 story condo at the beach or on a 45 foot yacht. In the worst of times, I have slept in a laundry mat or my car if I had one. I have been to the top of the prudential building in Boston and had dinner and drinks. I’ve also eaten packaged food in a Turkish wasteland surrounded by flies. I’ve had some success like soldier of the year, building an organization from scratch, and being married for 12 years with three children. I have failed with two previous marriages. Once I was in the top 1% fitness bracket in the United States. Once, I came close to dying. Now, I’m trying to get back to the top 25%.
Along this journey of ups and downs, I have met some incredible people. I discovered you can learn something from everyone. People will surprise you with what they know if you listen. To this day, I still incorporated some things into my personality from people I may not have seen eye to eye with. I realized long ago that just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean you can’t learn from them.
So, I have met and spoken with thousands of people. I have been to 7 countries and 38 states. I met so many amazing people along the way. Unfortunately, I let they all slip away while I was being caught up in my own little circle in the last few years.
So, with the power of the Internet, I’m reaching out to a whole new group of people. In my opinion there are two things that really help us experience life and expand our minds; books and people. I feel sad for people who never leave their town and never speak to or read about new people. With this site, I hope to provide a resource for people to find out more about others and themselves. I will be focusing on email interviews with people from all over the world with different backgrounds. Some will be professionally orientated. After all, don’t most of us define ourselves by our work? In addition, I will be focusing on people from other countries.
